Frequently Asked Questions
The questions Southwest Florida businesses ask us most are about our signs, our process, pricing, permits, and service area. Do not see yours? Just ask.
01
General
What does Core Sign Group do?
We are a local, full-service sign company in Southwest Florida. We design, fabricate, permit, install, and maintain signage for businesses around the Southwest area, handling every stage managed by us so you deal with one accountable team.
Do you provide design, fabrication and installation, or just one part?
All three. One team runs your project from the first consultation and design through fabrication and the final install, so you never have to coordinate separate vendors.
Can you repair or replace a sign another company made?
Yes. We service and repair signs built by other companies as well as our own. See our sign repair & maintenance page for what we handle.
Can you match my brand and existing signage?
Yes. We produce signage in your brand colors, fonts and finishes, including PMS color matching, so a new sign reads as part of the same brand as your storefront, website and marketing.
02
Sign Types & Products
What types of signs do you make?
Exterior and storefront signs, illuminated channel letters, monument and pylon signs, interior and ADA signage, vehicle wraps, banners and event signage, and fully custom fabrication.
What is the difference between a monument sign and a pylon sign?
Height. Monument signs sit at ground level for slow, close-up traffic; pylon signs are elevated to be read from a distance and at speed. Allowable heights vary by jurisdiction and property. More on our monument & pylon signs page.
Do you do ADA-compliant signage?
Yes. We build ADA room IDs, restroom and exit signs with tactile characters, Grade 2 Braille, correct contrast and mounting height, matched to your brand so compliance never means a generic look.
How long does a vehicle wrap last?
A professionally installed wrap lasts about five to seven years in Florida with cast vinyl and a protective laminate. Details on our vehicle wraps page.
03
Design, Permits & Code
Do I need a permit for a business sign in Florida?
Most permanent commercial signs do, and freestanding signs usually need engineered drawings. We prepare the documentation and manage the process, our sign permitting service covers it end to end.
Do I get to see a design before the sign is made?
Yes. You receive a proof, and for dimensional or illuminated work a 3D rendering on a photo of your building, before anything goes to production. See sign design & creative.
Can you design a sign if I do not have a logo yet?
Yes. Our designers can build a concept from scratch and, if needed, develop a simple wordmark to anchor it around your business name, colors and goals.
04
Installation, Repair & Maintenance
Are your installers insured?
Yes. Our crews are insured, and any required electrical work is coordinated with the appropriate licensed trade. See sign installation.
Can you install a sign I bought elsewhere?
Yes. We offer install-only service for signs from another manufacturer, ordered online, or supplied by a franchise or property manager. We verify it fits your site, then mount and connect it.
Do you offer ongoing maintenance?
Yes. We offer scheduled inspections, cleaning, lighting checks and hardware tightening to prevent outages, useful for businesses with multiple signs or locations. See repair & maintenance.
My sign is down or flickering. How fast can you respond?
As a local team we can typically assess urgent repairs quickly and prioritize safety issues and storm damage. Exact timing depends on parts and scheduling.
05
Pricing & Timelines
How much does a sign cost in Florida?
It depends on the type, size, materials and whether it is illuminated. Banners start in the low hundreds; channel letters or a monument sign run into the thousands. We provide a firm written quote after reviewing your project.
How long does a project take from start to finish?
Most projects run two to four weeks from approved design to installation. Banners and simple graphics are faster; illuminated and permitted signs take longer because of fabrication and approvals. You get a timeline before we start.
How do I get a quote?
Tell us your location, sign type and goals through our quote form or by phone, and we will follow up with a plan and a firm price.
06
Service Area
Do you serve businesses outside Southwest Florida?
Our primary service area is Southwest Florida, including Tampa, Sarasota, Bradenton, Lakewood Ranch and Venice. If your project is nearby, reach out with your location and we’ll confirm whether we can cover it.
Do you build signs for the coast specifically?
Yes. We use corrosion-resistant hardware, UV-stable faces and, on freestanding signs, structures engineered for Florida wind load, so your sign holds up to salt air, sun and storm season.

Tell us about your project and we’ll get you a clear answer and a firm quote, no pressure.
